Building dens - at Coombes Primary School and in East London

Tim Gill recently put me onto this video about den-building at The Coombes CE Primary School, which I really like.



(Though I am not convinced by the argument, which I think Steiner first proposed, that children's play somehow harks back to earlier stages of human development; having said that, the commitment to this sort of play in Steiner-Waldorf schools is admirable).


Walking through Epping Forest this week, crossing back and forth between north-east London and Essex, has been a joy. The autumn sun has been so beautiful - and there have been dens everywhere. Here are three I liked:
